Yilgarn Base Metals Project

The Yilgarn Base Metals Project consists of two separate groups of tenements: Yarbu North and Coppermine Bore, which cover part of the Marda-Diemals greenstone belt. The Yarbu North prospect covers an area of 840ha and is approximately 150km north of Southern Cross.

Records from the old Yarbu gold mine area, dating back to 1912, indicate that the grade of small parcels of ore was very high (40-50g/t Au).

Results of a regional sampling program completed in the 1980s by the CSIRO show that Yarbu is distinctive as an area of anomalous concentration of metals (including gold, copper, antimony, lead, zinc, nickel and other gold pathfinder elements such as arsenic, tungsten and tin). This is a favourable regional setting for Archaean gold deposits.

The Coppermine Bore prospect is adjacent to the north of the old Coppermine Bore underground gold workings. The geology comprises metasediments intercalated with minor mafic and ultra mafic intrusive rocks; minor felsic rocks and some intrusive dolerite dykes.

The Company intends to conduct initial exploration by way of assembly of all available open file geological and geophysical data with the aim of establishing broad geological models and target areas.
