Yandal Gold Project
The Yandal Gold Project covers a premier position in the Yandal Belt region in the northern part of the Eastern Goldfields Province, Australia’s largest gold producing region.
The Yandal Project is located about 95km from Wiluna and covers an area of 300km2. The southern boundary is 35km north of the Bronzewing and Mt McClure gold mines and 80km south-southeast of the Jundee and Nimary gold mines.
Over 13 million ounces of gold (Moz Au) have been delineated in the Yandal Belt in a number of deposits since 1987. The largest gold deposits include Jundee (5.4 Moz Au), Bronzewing (2.3 Moz Au), Darlot (2.9 M0z Au) and Thunderbox (1.4 Moz Au).
The Yandal Belt lies 50km east of the belt hosting some of the world’s largest komatite associated nickel sulphide deposits, including Mount Keith (2.7 Mt Ni), Perseverance (1.3 Mt Ni) and Honeymoon Well (1.1 Mt Ni).
The Yandal Gold Project has been reported to contain two Inferred Mineral Resources of:
- 320,000 tonnes grading 2.29 g/t Au at Lowlands;
- 39,600 tonnes at 6.47 g/t Au at Slav Well.
The above resources were discovered by Tectonic Resources NL in the late 1980s and are both shallow oxide resources defined to a depth of approximately 50 metres and remain open along strike.
Significant results from previous drilling (subsequent to Tectonic Resources NL) include 7m at 11.49 g/t from 17 metres at the Forked Stick Prospect.
The potential for significant gold mineralisation within the Yandal Gold Project is very high as the area has not been systematically explored in the past. The Yandal Gold Project covers highly prospective geology and mineralised structures containing anomalous gold results requiring follow-up exploration.
